ACTIVITY – Develop Your Vision

[A reminder: I am taking a whole life perspective. You can, of course, restrict your vision to your professional life if you wish.]

Don’t rush to the next topic!

Take some time to think about your future vision. What would your ideal life in 5 to 10 years’ time look like?

Jot down some notes.

It doesn’t have to be too detailed at this stage, just enough for you to have a sense of where you would like to be. Your vision will change as you move through the planning phase but time invested at this stage, thinking about what you really want to achieve, will be repaid many times over in the future.

The more ‘real’ and tangible your vision is, the faster you will be able to move towards it. Certainly it will make the next steps in the planning phase much easier.

[If it isn’t the right moment for you to do this thinking and you wish to move on to the next topics, that’s OK. But, don’t mark this topic as complete until you have at least a working draft of your vision]
