If you are new to mind mapping, I would suggest that you watch the video, then download Xmind (link below) and become familiar with it; as I say in the video, you will know 80% of what you need to know within 5 minutes.
In a later topic, I will provide an Xmind template for you to download.
You can, of course, use other mind mapping tools, though if you don’t already have a favourite tool, Xmind is very good.
And, if you really don’t get along with mind mapping, feel free to use other programs such as Evernote – or pen and paper.
