Your Interests

“The best thing that can happen to a human being is to find a problem, to fall in love with that problem, and to live trying to solve that problem, unless another problem even more lovable appears.”

Here are a few questions that might help you to identify your primary interests:

  • what did you want to be when you were growing up and what are the elements that attracted you: serving others, being creative, problem-solving, making something that lasts?
  • what kind of activity puts a spring in your step or quickens your pulse (and what do you try to avoid)?
  • where do you ‘lose yourself’ so that time flies by?
  • when have you been most productive?
  • what do you do when you should be doing other things (perhaps there are ways you can use this as a guide to other activities that you might enjoy or even find a way to do more of this constructively)?
  • what articles do you read first in the newspaper?
  • what magazines catch your attention?
  • which documentaries do you watch on television?
  • where does your curiosity take you?
